Description

  • lyrate shaped like a lyre, with an enlarged terminal lobe and smaller lateral lobes -pinnatisect deep opposite lobing leaves sparsely covered in short stiff hairs with irregularly dentate with symmetrical teeth margin forming a rosette leaflets in tight circular rings above the central taproot
  • leaf upper surface is dark green, paler below with a pink-purple central vein near to the stem
  • dandelion-like yellow flower

  1. pick tender stems and leaves
  2. steam or boil to remove bitterness and serve with olive oil and lemon
