Description

  • Sideritis cypria has lanceolatepointed at both ends leaves densely covered with short matted woolly hairs and yellow flowers with a dark brown margin
  • Sideritis perfoliata has perfoliatestem seeming to pierce leaf leaves thinly covered with stiff, short hairs and pale-yellow flowers

preparation

  1. pick the whole stem juat as it begins to flower and the leaves are still green
  2. Dry in bunches by hanging upside down
  3. add a few stems to hot water and allow to steep for ‘mountain tea’

Sideritis perfoliata can be found on Troodos and the west of the island

Sideritis cypria can be found on the Πενταδάκτυλος (Pentadaktylos), Beşparmak mountain range
