Description

  • light green colour alternate leaflets arranged alternately, lanceolate pointed at both ends leaves with a slightly waxy texture and a prominent midrib running down the center
  • daily new small blue flowers with three petals, with the upper two petals fused together and the lower petal separate

preparation

  1. stems, flowers, leaves and seeds are all edible.
  2. use raw in salads
  3. steam like spinach or stir fried
  4. add to soups as a herb

extra info

The flowers can be used to extract dye that begins blue and fades to green in daylight.
